Definately feeling the working on flexion. I played in the water a couple of times again yesterday, as I head back to my pooless, lakeless yard today. That went well.. however I decided to pull on my leg a bit more... and it sure hurt... I got full flexion while I was doing it but it was painful, especially straightening afterwards... eeesh...
Hopefully with some iceing it will settle down.. Other than that i'm still walking upstairs like a normal person and attempting a stair or two going down... my knee isn't comfy yet but I am not limping so that's huge.
Well.. i'm limping a bit.. but not like I did before my surgery.
Guess that's all my update for now.. my incisions really hurt to touch so i've been... eeek massaging them trying to desensitize them.

Linney, nice to hear your progress. You have struggled for so long and already this surgery has made such difference. Be proud of yourself that you made this decision of changing OS and having surgery. After having same OS for so many years, not easy to move one and try something else.
Looking forward to follow your progress and finally have you back on the horse.

You had a lot done on your knee Linney. So this will probably take while to get down. Are you doing ankle pumps ?

Hey Nettan yes I am doing ankle pumps, and you are right I had alot done.. however, a week ago my knee was practically normal size with just a tiny bit of noticeable puffiness when you touched it.. but now it's huge again!

Could hopefully be a temporary setback. Maybe if you are walking more and more for each day.

Linds!
Keep icing and keep the leg elevated in every chance you get! I'll go away, just be patient!
You're doing good!

Thanks Helena, it seems to be down a bit this morning.. see what the day brings. I'm not too worried because like I said no increase in pain or heat or discoloration... just want the swelling to go down so I can get full rom as i'm struggling at hte moment.
HOpe you are well

Linney, missed your updates the past couple days. Maybe you are just doing a little too much yet? I can understand once you can do things you haven't been able to do for a long time . You want to keep making more progress .
Call your OS and tell them what's going on . Catch it early...
Do you have a big watering tank for the animals you can share and hop in to do your water exercises ? Now that would be a pic for us to see
Maybe put some molasses on that leg and you would get a massage by cow tongue at the same time.
There goes that weird sense of humor I have . Sorry... Hope you find out what to do soon. Hard to believe it's been almost 3 years on this site for me . We go back that long! I'd rather it be for socialization than knee problems for you.
Behave yourself now. Ron

Thanks Ron, things seem to be settling down... The swelling has decreased quite a bit, but i'm controlling pretty much every variable. I stretch and ice as soon as I get up in the morning, do my exercises a few times throughout the day. But i'm not pushing it.. no long walks or anything like that.. just walking around the house, and such... and I usually take a few hours a day to just chillax on the couch and read or watch some TV... to let the knee rest.
I have pretty much full extension after i stretch , flexion is coming but it's still a bit sticky... it'll come I think when the rest of hte swelling goes.
See what time brings.. it's been 3 weeks tomorrow... which isnt' a very long time, but feels like it...
I can't believe you've been kicking around here for 3 whole years...
I can't remember when I joined, but it was before the forum looked anything like this.. maybe back in about 2001 ish.. yikes...I hope eventually, in the not to distant future to post here only to help other's... as after I recover from this surgery... i'm determined to stay out from under that knife...sheesh... i've had 5 surgeries in 10 years, but 4 of them have been since 2002.

So while things seem to be settling/coming along with my Three weeks post op Left knee my right knee subluxed quite badly for the first time in a long time around 3 am this morning when I got up to see why our dog was barking.
IT hurt, and I had a hard time getting back to sleep. It's not all that swollen though there is some swelling above my kneecap... sigh.. hopefully once I can get up and walking again, when the left knee is to that point things will settle down for both knees. Physio just can't keep the muscle strength and flexability like walking everyday can.
Sigh..

Linney, you just need a BIG HUG... (((((((( Linney ))))))))
NOW, I hope that you called in to find out what to do next. Given your unusual circumstances with your genes. Could it be that is the reason the other knee went out?
Slow and steady on the walking , I hope that you get some help soon. Ron

Hey Ron, my knees have been.. going out for decades.. lol... it just hadn't happened in a long while.. so it kind of shocked me. I put my patellar tracking brace on for a couple of days and took anti inflams and it's settled down some... sigh... it just never ends..
Good news, my knees are both feeling better and I was actually able to walk at a normal pace and stride wehn shopping last night!!!! First time in 14 months!! YAY..
still working away on my PHYSIO have aways to go with Strength and Flexability but it will come I can feel it , in my... sore little kneecaps!!! Ha ha..
Thanks for the hug and the encouragment... I am feeling positive about these things with my knees for the first time in over a year.
