Is this another thing to be worried about
« on: March 13, 2007, 11:45:30 PM »
Previous posts have all been in Patella section as I have PFS since Oct.  In the last 3 weeks I have  pain and a crackling sound coming from top of knee cap.  A physio has said to me that  it is my tendon that has gone very tight. Should this worry me or will this sympton go away when eventually the knee cap goes back on track or is this slowing me up - I am making very slow progress - if anything I am going backwards.  I have tried using a stationery bike but each time my knee has reacted badly - would this be because of the tight tendon.

Its amazing to see all the differering lengths of rehab and times of immobilization.  I ruptured my right quad tendon two weeks ago, and had the repair on March 13.  I had extreme pain after surgery (nothing that morphine couldnt take care of).  SInce the day after surgery I have had very little pain.  I am wieght bearing on the leg, but hte leg must remain staright in an immobiliazer for 4 weeks.  I have no pain at night, and minimal pain while walking.  I find it hard to believe that some have been told to start flexing the knee right away, especially without supervision.
