TPF- is it Catastrophic?
« on: November 12, 2006, 01:42:55 AM »
I have a TPF and will need a TKR.  I was told by a surgeon to come back when I could no longer stand the pain from arthritis and
he would give me a TKR.  I hope to put it off for at least 5-10 years.   Now here  is a question- is a TPF considered a catastrophic accident.  I have found the following " A catastrophic injury is an extremely serious injury resulting in a permanent disability long lasting medical condition.  It tpically affects at least one system of the body and is very painful.'   I take codiene contin twice daily for the pain.     Any ideas are appreciated.
