Hi
Erin
, how's your pt going - any improvements?
Well I had my first hydrotherapy session this morning, it was FAB, I managed to do all the exercises that I couldn't do normally - EVEN SQUAT!!! I haven't been able to do that for about 10 years! I'm absolutely done in now though, the pt said I'd probably be in bed by 8pm tonight because I'd be so exhausted, its only 1pm and already I'm feeling pretty tired but it was all worth it just to be able to do the exercises, I go again on Wednesday for another session, hopefully it will go as well as this morning did.
Kris
, how did your appointment with the OS go?
Natalie.

Hi Natalie,
That's awesome!! I'm really happy for you that you found something that works.
I saw my OS this morning. It wasn't really good or bad, just frustrating. I told him that things were not better at all. He was very thorough in looking over my past operative report and scope pics, as well as examining my knee. He said because I am just 4 months post-op he is not overly concerned about the pain and grinding. He didn't say it was normal, though. So, I am to continue with PT and add in some new exerices he wants me to try. I honestly don't know why I'm so frustrated. My OS listened to me and everything. I don't know what I wanted or what I was expecting him to say. I guess the more PT part bothers me the most. I don't mind going to PT, really. I have a great therapist and I enjoy being around all the people there. However, I just don't have time. I have band on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays...leaving Wednesday as my only day off, so the only day I can go to PT. I'm just tired of everything. I've been going to PT consistently for over a year now...since my first TTT. Last week my PT reevaluated me. He tested my strength and it turns out that my right leg (dominant) is still approx. 25% weaker than my left leg. *sigh* Back to the OS appointment, lol. My hip hasn't gotten any better, so I mentioned it to him again. Last time, he said he would give me a cortizone shot. Today, he said just to keep working it in PT and then if it's not better by next time, then he'd give me a cortizone shot in my hip and my knee. I don't know. I guess I just keep plugging along. My next appointment is on December 27th...a long time away...but I suppose if things get really bad I can always call/email his nurse, or possibly move up my appointment.

Erin,
So sorry things have not improved for you yet, I can relate to how frustrated you feel, at least the OS didn't say that things had failed, maybe with a little more time things will start to improve, most of us get impatient and want results and answers quickly (impatience is my biggest flaw), but, as you say, maybe just plodding on for a few more weeks will bring results, I really hope so.
My hydrotherapy has obviously worked because my legs are all stiff today, must have worked those muscles really hard!
Take care and try not to lose heart, hopefully things will start to improve soon.
Natalie.
