Snap crackle and pop!
« on: July 04, 2005, 02:37:58 PM »
Hi,

I had mf last August.

Like most of you I dont know if it worked, made some mistakes and still feel pain.

I dont get the same level as pain as i did pre op. However I do still get some pain and noise.

I want to know if you suffer from with either of these? Or even what it may be.

Noise 1 -

When I am standing and I begin to bend my legs it sounds like a crackling noise, no pain with this one, it just sounds painfull. First 0-15 degrees

Noise 2 -

When I extend my leg, say when sitting down, it make a loud crack follwed by pain. This happens in about the last 0- 15 degrees before full extension.. This is the same pain I had pre op and that worries me.

Any questions for me and I am glad to help   :)

I had my second microfracture in Dec 03 and my knees still make the exact same noises that you are describing. THe loud pop and pain at extention is the worst. I still have daily swelling and pain and in pain management now. I know that my micro worked because I had to have an LOA in July 04 so the Doc got a first hand look at it. I fear that mine might be wearing out prematurely but I am not sure. I am scheduled for an MRI bright and early in the morning because I tore something in my knee a week ago.
From my experience, what you are going thru is normal.
good luck

Thanks stgiles that makes me feel better.

I thought like everyone else that it had failed but your comments/experience give me great hope.
