re nothing found from arthroscopy
« on: May 18, 2005, 12:35:23 PM »
;D  Hi guys said i would keep you posted. went to see my os on monday 3 weeks after arthroscopy said after op joint was fine.  Trouble is with the nhs here in England you never seem to see the same person (this time it was a lady). She did the usual tests then pressed down on my knee and boy did it hurt then asked me to stand and put weight on it, i couldnt the pain was too much. Shes said that i have patella maltracking and ime being refered back to pt.  She has made an appointment to see me again in 12 months time to give everything chance to settle back down (  can anyone tell me if this is the norm ) Trouble is already been since september 04 it happend, 8 months on and still no better. Already been to pt prior to arthroscopy. Can you please let me know what i should expect from pt for a patella maltracking. Hugs  :-* :-* :-*

12 months is a REALLY long time.

You need to give PT a good go, and keep, asking yourt PT how he/she thinks you are progressing. So long as you make progress, stick with it, but if you stop progressing, bring the appt forward. Also, I don't think you should be seeing different people each time. Perhaps you could ask for a particular person.

I recently had a scope. What did he do in yours? He surely found something ? You should be able to read your op notes(the PT let me read mine) to give you a bit more info.

LIke you, my OS said that after the scope the joint was really healthy, no problems, but here I am still with only 70 degrees flexionand a little short on extension. I guess they just don't know

Good luck smiley

On monday it was the 3rd person in the  team been told something different again. was meant to be my cartilage at first.  Hopefully will get same pt i have asked for her as i could speak to her and she would tell me in simple terms what was happening.  Ime under stockport hospital but ive requested to be seen at Hyde phsio so i dont think she will get all my hospital notes but i will definatley ask her. I teach in stockport!

I have two good recommendations for physio from colleagues if you want them. I was being seen at Wythenshawe hospital but I've transferred to private care.

Small world isn't it

;D  hi guys I phoned the pt department yesterday to let them know i was being refered back after being at the hospital on monday.  I was so amazed that she already had the letter there. The one thing that has worried me though is that the receptionist said it had on it priority urgent case.  Getting a bit worried now. Hugs  :-* :-* :-*
