OUCH!
« on: April 16, 2005, 06:39:21 AM »
I'm a week post op on a MacIntosh ACL repair and owwwwwww  :'(  I've had to go back on opiates as well as painkillers, I've got fentanyl patches which means I can at least get some sleep. In hospital I was surviving between pethadine shots and I ended up staying in for four days. I didn't expect this to be fun but I did NOT expect pain this bad!!

Jan 05 cortisone;

Ranger~
That sucks! But the worst will be over soon and then you can get back to all the sports and things you like to do before that you couldnt! How come they made you stay in the hospital for so long? Anyways, I hope your pain dies down a bit and you hit the road to recovery soon! Best of luck!

Thanks Krista

I was in that long because the pain wasn't under control from the start, I spent most of the time begging the staff for pain relief- it's scared me off ever going near a hospital again, it was a very grim experience. The GP has things controlled now with the fentanyl patches thankfully, but I'm nine days post op today and I still can't reduce the meds at all. Knee is stable, now strong as a rock, but owwwwwwww............

Hey Ranger,

I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough time!!  It is good that you now have the pain under control.  I hope that you continue to be able to keep the pain under control and that you have a speedy recovery!!  Take good care of that knee!!
