Lateral Release 9 months post op
« on: March 06, 2005, 05:47:53 PM »
I had a lateral release 9 months ago.  Surgery went well and I am very mobile, but at the site of the incision I have a persistent feeling of both a swelling and stiffness and also a feeling of looseness of the kneecap and some soreness of the scar tissue inside the knee.  I am due to have the other knee operated on in 2 months I would like to know if what I am feeling now is normal 9 months after surgery and when I will be able to tell if the first operation has been successful.  I would like to know this before I undertake the surgery of the second knee. Any comments would be welcomed.

I had a LR 7 months ago. I was told that it takes a lot of time for the knee to heal. Everyone is different. What works for one person may not work for another. I still have swelling and stiffness in my knee too.
