Cobras are so expensive. That when I aged off my parents plan (if you have kids you can Cobra them for an additional 6-months to a year once they either graduate college or turn 24 whichever comes first, in my case it was college graduation) if was cheaper for my to BUY my own plan then have my parents pay for a cobra. And this is with the same insurance co.!!

Ron, I know I am new to this site and all. But there is a glimmer of hope with insurance... Alot of Co's will offer discounted coverage if you earn below a certain amount a year and you buy the plan yourself. That is waht I did and I only pay around $200 a month and a friend of mine who has the same program run through another insurance provider (and has a better plan then I) is only paying like $125 a month. Full coverage, including prescription plans. They completely covered the cost of my last surgery, the BAD part is I don't have PT coverage. Again I am not sure about your entire situation. But I hope maybe your area has this program. The BEST part is that under my state law the insurance co CAN NOT drop me for any reason. I hope I didn't offend anyone. But I wasn't even aware of this type of insruance until a friend in HR told me!  ;D

thanks daisy..and everyone else....need to stay with this plan for the next 2 mths at least as more needle work and a couple of in office procs need to be done.....when that has passed.....and if i am still not with a perm gig...i will most likely shop for a less expensive plan....there is a dude who does what you describe and i used him after 9-11 when many of us had to pick up our own benes as my firm was pretty devasated financially.........

hope everyone is having a great wkend...the rain finally stopped and the sun is emerging...after a all nighter on fri..post needle work.............and after the gym and doing everything else i coudl think of by 7:30 am ..i did play golf in the rain like the cementhead i truly am.....but it was nice to get out there altho the deteriorating hip has forced me to accept a less skilled and weaker game...however........great to see the guys..who insisted i take a cart.........of course i was almost planning to but the broken down third rate ex jock in me always tries not to..lol...it was a fun day and not too horribly hobbled today..stayed ahead of the pain and really iced..heated....and stretched before during and after....my gift to me was this game after wks of loading trucks and pulling double shifts and even tho it hurts...i have a dopey smile on my face....

hugs

Hey Ron !!

Wow, you are exactly like me !! You can't see how others work and sit beside and then you get worse after helping. By the way did you use my trick at the dinner ?
So you dream your last injury when beeing in more pain. I dream that all ortho surgeons I have met are chasing me when having more pain. Last week when having bad pain the ortho docs chased me and put my leg straight in plaster. The funny were that I always wake up with my leg bent when beeing in more pain and straighten it when I wake up, but this time I woke up with a straight leg. But of course I were in a plaster !!
Well we have no sun here today so I can't send sunny smiles, it's raining but you can get millions of hugs instead !!

HUGS IN MILLIONS Your friend always NETTAN  8)
