How it all started
Submitted by kiddthekatt on November 17, 2007 - 6:23pm.I guess I should have given a bio on how this knee crap started. I played tennis all through jr high and high school. That court can tear your knees up, but when you are young, you don't think about the damage you are doing to your body. I would wake up at night with my legs cramping so badly I would cry half the night. As I got older and started my family, my knees settled down, or so I thought. I had a silent enemy that was working overtime, osteoarthrtis was going to town on my knees.
Patellar problems
Submitted by akam. on November 30, 2007 - 11:22pm.Here's a nice shiny new blog site for me to post about my ailing knees! I have been using livejournal for my blog posts, concerning everything (not just the knees) but at least now here is a place directly specific to my ongoing knee problems.
http://akam-i.livejournal.com/ is the place to go if you are interested in reading any of my previous entries. The recent ones are knee-related, to find other blogs on my knees you'd have to delve pretty far, so I will summarise here:
OS thinks I may be able to get away with OATS instead of allograft
Submitted by michelel on March 11, 2009 - 7:30pm.Well My OS called me back today and told me she has looked at the pics from my last scope and she thinks that if the defect hasnt increased in size too much she will be able to do the OATS instead of allograft. She will be doing a diagnostic scope somewhere between April 15 and 30, and if the defect is ok for OATS shes gonna go ahead and do it then, if it is too large shell close up and procede with arranging the allograft. She said if she does the OATS i will stay overnight in the hospital, will have a CPM machine and she is going to try and get a cryotherapy machine appro

I am sorry but this page is out of bounds. It may be that you need to register or login. Or it may be reserved for the use of admin.
Look on the sidebars for the 'Search Tools' - they should help you get back on track. 'Search the hub' - will probably be the most useful to you. Otherwise see the menu items in the 'General Information' section.

Scar Tissue-Nerve Entrapment......A Second time
Submitted by missmyknee on December 4, 2007 - 5:29am.If you've been following my stories about scar tissue, you will know that I previously had scar tissue compressing the infrapatellar branch of the saphenous nerve. This was back in 2005. It was surgically debrided , decompressed and excised in 2006.
lateral mensicus trouble post operation
Submitted by nicholls on April 10, 2009 - 7:36am.hey me names dylan im 15 years old and having a problem with my surgically repaired lateral meniscus. I had the operation to repair the meniscus on october 22nd last year (its 10th April today) and still isnt 100%. I keep experiencing swelling in the knee and the back of the knee tightens up. It feels like my meniscus has been torn again but i havent done anything that vigorous for that to be so. I play rugby league but havent since the injury last year. I want to get back on the field and playing but these swellings and setbacks with my knee arent doing that much help.
Pediatric Knee Replacement - Being 30ish and too young for a lifetime of pain
Submitted by Bubble_wrap on November 20, 2007 - 2:28am.Too young for a lifetime of pain.
I consider you a Pediatric Case." Said the second OS I saw. Sure I wanted a second set of eyes to review my condition. But I didn't expect the next sentence to come out of his mouth. I would only consider doing your knee replacement once you turn 40. I didn't fit the 60 year old profile that many doctors consider the ripe age for replacement.
My spine surgery...and the time after..
Submitted by Nettan on December 11, 2007 - 10:33pm.So here I were ready to go to emergency spine surgery as soon as there was a OR time free. Time went on and after 24 hours I was getting wheeled up to OR. Outside they discovered that they had forget my allergy against latex and had to put out new instruments. So I had to wait outside OR 45 minutes. Meanwhile a cute nurse had me write down a cucumber recipe to keep me occupied.
With all meds in my body that took time... .
Searches that find what you're looking for
Submitted by admin on January 5, 2008 - 9:31pm.There are so many sites on the internet now that doing a search can be really frustrating. Especially when up comes dozens of sites with the same content or, even worse, sites with nothing but ads on them. Also one has to comb through the content to separate out the type of content a patient can understand from the type of content aimed at surgeons.
So I have put together two search engines (using a Google application) especially for you. One has patient content and the other is content for doctors. There should be very little rubbish coming up when you search.
