In this paper the authors present two patients with diabetes who had lower limb nerve problems after total knee replacement. Neither had a problem with neuropathy before their current surgery. One of the patients was having a revision knee replacement after developing arthrofibrosis.
Scar Tissue-Nerve Entrapment......A Second time

This was back in 2005. It was surgically debrided , decompressed and excised in 2006.

Delee Osteotomy For Patella Baja/Infera and Infrapatellar Contracture Syndrome (IPCS)

I was diagnosed with patella baja and infrapatellar contracture syndrome in July of 2001. This came 11 mos after my horseback riding accident, where I broke my tibia and fibula in 4 places. I developed arthrofibrosis of my knee, after the nailing procedure thru my knee, to repair the tibia fractures.
2004 Screening for arthrofibrosis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

This paper is interesting but inconclusive and probably can be considered as a pilot study. The authors were interested in trying to determine whether some people have a genetic susceptibility to the exaggerated scarring which is characteristic of arthrofibrosis.
2003 - Rehabilitation of the arthrofibrotic knee

This is a review article discussing the significance of prevention and early recognition of arthrofibrosis. The authors note that arthrofibrosis of the knee can be localised or global, and can restrict flexion or extension of the knee or movement of the patellofemoral joint.
2001 - Motion loss after ligament injuries to the knee

This paper, published in 2001, reviews the concepts at that time on terminology, incidence and risk factors for motion loss of the knee after ligament injury or surgery. The authors then outline the published opinions regarding diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

The authors feel that people need to use precise terminology when describing motion loss, and recommend that -
