Displaced TPF
First four weeks
Submitted by Broxy on May 15, 2008 - 9:24am.A couple of days after second surgery the hospital physio's arrived, I was still in a lot of pain and was surprised that that they pushed so fast to get me up and about. I was fitted with a hinged brace, metal bars with lockable hinge joint at the knee which was set at 10 - 90 degrees, its velcroed to cushioned pads that strap around the shin and thigh, very neat but don't strap them up too tight or can cause excessive cramps and foot pain.
Physio assessment two months post surgery for TPF
Submitted by Broxy on May 12, 2008 - 6:08pm.Just got back from my first physiotherapy appointment, friendly and helpful with some experience of TPF she was cautious in recommending that I concentrate only on exercises to straighten my leg and rebuild quads, wants to speak to OS before attempting to change the limit on the brace which limits me to 90 degrees rom. The most optimistic yet as to me making a full recovery although didn't suggest when! next visit in 8 days.
