Dr Fred Cushner is a knee surgeon on the staff of the Insall, Scott & Kelly Clinic in New York, where he completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction and sports medicine. He is also associate professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Cushner is an assistant team physician to the New York Knicks, and was event chairman of the 1997 PGA Championship Tournament. In the past, he has also been the team physician for Arena Football’s New York CityHawks. He is a member of the Board of Fellows of Professional Team Physicians. He has a special interest in cartilage injuries of the knee (trained in Sweden in cartilage transfer procedures), general sports medicine and transfusion free surgery.
