Patellofemoral

The patella is the kneecap, the small bone sitting over the front of the knee. The femur is the thighbone. 'Patellofemoral' means that area of the junction of the kneecap and thighbone.

The word is used as an adjective to describe the nature of a body part or a procedure - eg patellofemoral resurfacing.
