Quadriceps muscle
The quadriceps muscle is the large muscle at the front of the thigh.
The word ‘quadriceps’ mens ‘four heads’ and the muscle has four heads. These are:
- rectus femoris
- vastus lateralis
- vastus medialis
- vastus intermedius (under the rectus femoris)
