Lysis of adhesions
Breaking down the strands of material which can form inside the joint if the knee is inflamed; These strands are called 'adhesions'. If allowed to remain intact, they may become infiltarted with scar-tissue cells and form real scarring, limiting knee motion - a condition called 'arthrofibrosis'.
