Static quads

This short video sequence shows you how to do static quads exercises. These are simple but important exercises to maintain tone in the quadriceps muscles ('lap' muscles) and prevent the quads from becoming inhibited.

From a relaxed position with the legs outstretched, point the toes of one leg towards the roof. |

Contract your quads muscle, pushing the knee down onto the surface on which you are lying. You will notice that the heel will lift up an inch or so. |

Relax the quads and the heel will come down again to the resting position. |
