Knee surgery

Knee surgery includes operating on the structures within the knee joint, or on the structures adjacent to the knee joint and affecting its function.

This may include arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) or ‘open’ surgery. When part or all of the joint is replaced it is called ‘arthroplasty’ or joint replacement.
