Dr Rolf is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon (since 1991) with extensive experience in knee surgery in professional athletes. His patients are to 85% professional athletes from mainly soccer, rugby and cricket. He was Founding Clinical Chair of Sports Medicine at the Sheffield Centre of Sports Medicine at the University of Sheffield (2000, the first in UK) as well as Chairman of the Scientific and Education Committee of the European Federation of Sports Medicine (among many other international nominations).
He returned to Sweden from the UK in 2011, and is now Professor of Sports Medicine at Karolinska Institute and Head/Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon of the Arthroscopy and Sport Injury Section.
