Dr Craig Bottoni's expertise includes arthroscopy, patellofemoral instability and realignment surgery, ACL, PCL, PLC and complex multiple knee ligament reconstructions. He has extensive experience in meniscal allograft and osteochondral allograft transplantations. He is based in Qatar.
Dr Craig Bottoni was, until July 2006, the chief of sports medicine and Orthopaedic Residency Research Director at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Sports Medicine Consultant for the US Military, Pacific Command. At that time he separated from the US Army (after being selected for promotion to Colonel and being awarded the coveted “A” Proficiency Designator (equivalent to full professorship in the academic/civilian sector) and joined OrthoSports, LLC of Clearwater, Florida. Dr Bottoni has published over 20 professional articles and 6 textbook chapters in the Orthopaedic literature. In 2004, he was selected for the AOSSM (American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine) European Sports Medicine Traveling Fellowship. Along with 3 other surgeons, he had the opportunity to visit over 10 European centers of Sports Medicine excellence. He participated in academic conferences, delivered lectures, and observed surgery. In 2006, he was the host for the first stop of the AOSSM and Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Association Traveling Fellowship. Dr Bottoni is Past President of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Hawaii Orthopaedic Association. In addition he is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AOSSM, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
