Ian Barlow qualified in medicine from the University of Bristol in 1985. He trained in Surgery at St James's University Hospital, Leeds and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1989. He trained in Orthopaedic Surgery in Southampton and other centres in Wessex, becoming FRCS (Orth) in 1997. As part of his specialist training, Ian undertook a travelling fellowship in Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine in the USA in 1996.In 1998, Ian was appointed to a consultant post in Dorset, since which time he has developed a subspecialist knee surgery practice.
