Mr Saithna is a Consultant at Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals and Renacres Private Hospital. He is a specialist in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery of the knee and shoulder. His
knee surgery practice is dedicated to returning young active patients with sports injuries back to high levels of activity. In order to allow him to focus his attention on young patients with sports injuries he no longer offers knee replacement surgery.
His extensive fellowship training allows him to offer state of the art surgical procedures to his patients including anatomic
ACL reconstruction, PCL reconstruction, meniscal repair, meniscal scaffolds/ transplant, cartilage repair procedures ( microfracture, osteochondral grafting, AMIC: autologous matrix-induced chondrogensis), tibial tuberosity transfer, MPFL reconstruction and osteotomy surgery.

Mr Saithna is an expert in
clinical and laboratory research. He has over 50 publications which can be viewed on his ResearchGate profile which is available via the weblinks tab. He has won numerous awards for his research including the Harry Hollier Foundation Award. This allowed him to visit internationally recognized knee surgeons in Vail (Dr Richard Steadman – the founder of microfracture) and Chicago (Dr Brian Cole – an international expert in cartilage research and cartilage repair in the knee).
Mr Saithna is an Editor of the World Journal of Orthopaedics and an invited Guest Editor for an upcoming Sports Medicine edition of Current
Orthopaedic practice. He is also an invited reviewer for over 10 peer-reviewed journals. Memberships

Sports Injury and Upper Extremity Reconstruction Fellowship
During this fellowship Mr Saithna gained excellent experience working with internationally recognized sports injury surgeons including Professor P MacDonald – team doctor to the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers professional sports teams. Specific training was received in

Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy Fellowship
During this fellowship Mr Saithna gained experience with all aspects of
arthroscopic surgery including cartilage repair, and meniscal allograft surgery. He also gained experience of tibial tuberosity transfer and osteotomy surgery.
