Champ Baker III earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta before going on to complete his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Baker completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and worked on the medical staff of the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and Depaul University. Dr Baker is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His specialties include arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine with a special interest in hip arthroscopy and cartilage restoration.
