RSD is an abbreviation of 'reflex sympathetic dystrophy'.

 

Change in nomenclature

RSD is an older name, and nowadays the condition is referred to as Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). It is a distressing set of symptoms that may sometimes arise after an injury or surgery, where there is severe knee pain, difficulty with rehabilitation and skin changes.
