Joint cartilage
Joint cartilage is the shiny white gristle covering the contact surfaces of the bones in articulating (moving) joints.
It is also called ‘articular’ cartilage or ‘hyaline’ cartilage. When doctors talk of the cartilage of the knee they generally mean articular cartilage.
