Isokinetic machine

An isokinetic machine is both an exercise device and a measuring device, that uses the principles of isokinetics.

For the knee, the isokinetic machine is a seat with a lever arm. The foot is strapped onto the lever arm, and a speed is set for the person to exercise. No matter how hard the person pushes, the machine will alter the resistance so that the person pushes at a constant speed.

It is possible to gain information about the muscle strength and peak performance, and also to use the machine for building muscle strength.
