Instability
With instability of the knee, the person feels that they cannot trust the joint, which may give way and not allow confident movement.
The instability may be due to one or more of -
- lax, ruptured or avulsed ligaments
- torn meniscus
- subluxing patella (kneecap slipping to one side)
