Infrapatellar bursitis

Inflammation of the infrapatellar bursa, below the kneecap.

A bursa is a lubricated pouch or sac in regions where there is a lot of movement between muscles and bone. See bursa, bursitis. There are two infrapatellar bursae - superficial and deep. Bursitis of the superficial infrapatellar bursa is known as ‘clergyman’s knee’.
