Femoral Anteversion

Femoral anteversion is an inward rotation of the femur bone from the upper neck part of the femur. It may be a problem in young children, who demonstrate ‘kissing knees’ and ‘pigeon toes’ together with clumsy gait. Note that there are other causes of pigeon toes in children.

Most children simply grow out of it, but if femoral anteversion persists into adolescence it may cause anterior knee pain.
