Coefficient of friction
Coefficient of friction is a measure of the 'slipperiness' of something, for example the cartilage at the end of bone.
In a joint it is the measure of the force that maintains contact between the two articulating surfaces and the amount of frictional force that prevents the movement of one of the articulating surfaces on the other.
