Just another day...

Two weeks until my next ortho appointment...

My knee is still really tight; not great ROM...  The muscles around my knee are also still spasing at night and in the mornings.
Sore, crunchy, icing several times a day..... sigh..
I am worried about what the doc will say.  I know the next step will be another scope.  But he has also mentioned a meniscus transplant or lateral release, depending on his findings... I can't say I'm super excited about either of those options...

Post-Cortisone Update

Just a brief update:
-about 30 degrees ROM
-still bruised
-still swollen
-hurts all the time, but really bad at night
-hurts by the medial meniscus... this worries me... I've had the medial meniscus trimmed, and the bones are reshaping to compensate.  Well OS said if I was having medial meniscus pain that would make sense, and he would consider a meniscus transplant.  I'd never really had pain there, so I never worried about it (the whole idea of a transplant just creeps me out).  But now thats where the majority of my pain is... sigh....

OS Appointment

Well, I saw the OS today.  He said the MRI didn't get great images, but were enough that he didn't see any problem with the articular cartilage.

The Medial Meniscus is smaller than it should be, but that makes sense because that was trimmed in surgery #1.  Anyway, that's causing the bones to adjust themselves.  But if that were the source of my pain, I should just have medial knee pain.  Well, most of my pain is lateral/distal in addition to (less) medial pain.  But if I did have the medial pain, he would consider a meniscus transplant.

Frustration

Rant Warning ... Rant Warning

I'm frustrated. Angry

On Friday, I was (unofficially) offered my dream job, starting in January.  But because of my knee it is unlikely that I can accept.  I am so tired of not being able to do this or that because of my knee.  Also, my pain level has been elevated the past few days.

MRI

MRI was this morning Cheesy

Doc can't seen me again until July 16 Undecided

But maybe thats a good thing... a lot of patients must like him...

Catch Up

Ok, here is my history.  I'm 20 years old.  I have long been working towards a career in law enforcement, something that requires working knees...  I would also love to get back to ice staking and swimming.

Dr. 2, orthopedic surgeon.  Possible Meniscus tear.

healing without surgery

Just wondering if I can fix my bucket tear meniscus with just PT, exercise, glucosamine, lotion and good wishes...

I know it sounds dreamy, everybody says surgery sooner or later is the only way, but isn't there one case at least of someone who overcame this injury.

I know of a Yoga Guru that overcame it in 6 months, but I'm not a yoga guru, I live in NY and have to walk alot.

Maybe if I swim, strengthen..dunno
