Antero-medial
The word 'antero-medial' is a combination of the position words 'anterior' and 'medial'. Anterior means 'in front' or 'in front of'. Anterior knee pain means pain in the front of the knee. Or a structure in the body can be anterior to another structure, eg the kneecap is anterior to the thighbone.
Medial means ‘on the inner side’. If you slip your hand between your knees, that is the ‘medial’ side of your knee, whereas if you slap your outer thighs that is the ‘lateral’ side.
Antero-medial means ‘at the front on the inner aspect’.
